Carlo Piombo originates from the Massimo Piombo brand, created at the end of the ‘80s by my father after returning from a trip to the sub-arctic areas of Scotland, where he had discovered small artisanal mills, suppliers of the most prestigious London tailors and of the Royal Family, but that were still unknown in the continent.
As these fully artisanal micro productions were destined to the highest tailoring, he did not want to detach from their origins and decided to create his garments in Italy with a fully sartorial approach.
Today the brand bears my name, Carlo Piombo, and the DNA of my collections can be found in that cocktail, where the modernity of the highest Italian sartorial quality meets a constant search for the most authentic and best fabrics in the world.
In addition to Italian excellence, Mongolian cashmere and Peruvian baby alpaca, we still deeply focus on the English and the Scottish artisans, who still wash their virgin wools in the freezing waters of the Highlands without the use of additive chemicals or silicones, and who still handcraft them on wooden looms, jealously guarding their secrets and handing them down from generation to generation.
The results are small collections of limited-edition garments embracing a philosophy that goes beyond fashions and trends of the moment, preferring a timeless style that unites old school and modern shapes.
These “capsules” originate from the search for perfection and an almost obsessive love for detail, but they don't stop there: most of the garments are made with world-wide exclusive fabrics, where the sense of colour, the sense of matching and the sense of aesthetics is the common denominator.
Carlo Piombo is uncompromising beauty and search for natural elegance. My garments want to elicit an emotion and generate elective affinity with those who put them on, always enhancing, the character of those who choose them, wear them, live them.
